Hyde Beach Miami Music Week

MetaT3ch produced immersive event production and large-scale building projection mapping for Hyde Beach during Miami Music Week at the SLS South Beach hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. The multi-night production transformed the iconic Art Deco façade into a synchronized visual canvas, creating a high-impact nightlife experience during one of the world’s most recognized electronic music events.

Miami Music Week turns South Beach into one of the most recognized destinations in electronic music, drawing global DJs, nightlife brands, and audiences from around the world. During the 2022 celebration, Hyde Beach at SLS South Beach hosted a multi-night event series designed to deliver a high-energy combination of music, nightlife, and immersive visuals.

MetaT3ch produced the visual event environment for the Hyde Beach series, anchored by large-scale projection mapping across the SLS South Beach hotel. Rather than using the building as a static backdrop, the production transformed the architecture itself into part of the show, creating a venue-wide visual experience that elevated the scale and impact of the event.

Projection Mapping the SLS South Beach Hotel

The defining production element of the event was a massive 10-story projection mapping installation spanning the façade of the SLS South Beach hotel. The stepped Art Deco architecture provided a distinctive canvas, but also required detailed planning and precision alignment to ensure the visual content mapped cleanly across the building’s structure, windows, and contours.

MetaT3ch engineered the system using high-output projection equipment and advanced mapping workflows to create a seamless visual surface across the hotel exterior. Large-format architectural visuals like this require careful event engineering to balance creative content with real-world structural conditions, ambient light, projection distance, and alignment accuracy.

Real-Time Visuals Synchronized to Live Performances

A key difference in this project was that the projection content was not treated as a static looping display. Visuals were operated live and synchronized to performances throughout the event, allowing the façade to react dynamically to the music and energy of the crowd.

The mapping content featured bold animated patterns, color-driven motion graphics, and audio-reactive visual effects that evolved throughout the night. This gave each performance its own visual identity while maintaining a cohesive production design across the venue. During Miami Music Week, artists including Kaskade, Diplo, Fatboy Slim, Claptone, and others helped drive the atmosphere that made Hyde Beach one of the standout nightlife destinations of the week.

Integrating Stage, Lighting, and Venue-Wide Production

The projection mapping worked in coordination with the DJ stage, LED visuals, lighting, and show control systems to create one unified production environment. Instead of feeling like separate design elements, the building visuals and stage experience were intentionally integrated so the entire venue responded as one system.

This kind of coordination is essential for high-end concerts & festivals, where lighting, content, music, and architecture all need to work together to create a memorable audience experience. By aligning the stage design with the building projection and performance cues, MetaT3ch helped turn the entire Hyde Beach venue into a synchronized visual spectacle.

Creating an Iconic South Beach Nightlife Experience

Hyde Beach is already one of the best-known nightlife destinations in Miami, but during Miami Music Week the projection-mapped façade pushed the experience to another level. Guests were not simply watching a performance from in front of a stage — they were standing inside a fully immersive environment where the architecture, light, and sound all contributed to the atmosphere.

That kind of transformation is central to effective experiential marketing, especially for nightlife and entertainment events where memorable visuals help define the guest experience. By turning the hotel itself into a live visual canvas, the production created a strong sense of place and a recognizable identity for the Hyde Beach event series.

By the end of the multi-night run, the Hyde Beach projection mapping had become one of the most visually striking elements of the Miami Music Week experience at SLS South Beach. The combination of live-synced visuals, large-scale architecture mapping, and integrated stage production delivered a nightlife environment that felt immersive, technically refined, and unmistakably Miami.

Projects like this show how MetaT3ch approaches large-scale event environments: combining creative ambition with technical execution to transform venues into memorable live experiences. For Hyde Beach, that meant producing a projection-mapped hotel façade that became a true centerpiece of the event.
